Privacy Policy

This policy covers the mobile applications published by Larus (larus.id) on Google Play and the App Store, and this website. It explains what the apps collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated:

The short version

Several of our apps collect nothing at all — they run entirely on your device and never send your data anywhere. Others need one or two specific things to work, such as your location for a tracking feature. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not build advertising profiles.

What we collect

What an app collects depends on what it does. Across our apps, this is the full list:

  • Nothing, in apps that work entirely offline. Anything you enter stays in the app’s own storage on your device, and is removed when you uninstall it.
  • Location, only in apps with a tracking or navigation feature, only after you grant the permission, and only while that feature is in use. It is used to show positions and estimates in the app.
  • Diagnostics — crash reports and basic usage events, so we can find out what broke and which screens are worth improving. These carry device model, operating system version and an app-generated identifier, not your name.
  • Anything you send us by email, if you contact us for support. We keep it only as long as the conversation needs.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts. Our apps do not ask you to register, and we hold no usernames or passwords for them.
  • No contacts, photos, messages or call logs.
  • No advertising identifiers, and no sale or sharing of data with data brokers.

Device permissions

An app asks for a permission only when a feature you have opened needs it, and the request explains why. You can refuse, and you can withdraw the permission later in your device settings — the feature that depends on it stops working, but the rest of the app carries on.

How we use what we collect

We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions about you.

  • To make the feature you asked for work — showing a position on a map, for instance.
  • To diagnose crashes and fix defects.
  • To decide what to build or improve next, based on which features are actually used.

Third-party services

Where an app reports crashes or usage, it does so through Google services (Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase). Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. Distribution is handled by Google Play and the Apple App Store, which collect their own download and purchase data under their own policies — we receive only aggregate statistics from them.

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits. It does not identify you, and the site sets no advertising cookies.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers named above, who process it on our behalf, and only where the law requires us to — a valid legal order, for example.

Retention

Data held on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Crash and usage data is retained by the analytics provider on a rolling window, currently up to 14 months, and then deleted. Email correspondence is kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access to what little we hold is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, so we do not promise absolute security — but we hold as little as possible, which is the most effective protection there is.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights and deleting your data

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. For most apps you can do it yourself: uninstalling removes everything held on the device. For diagnostics data, email us at hi@larus.id with the app name and we will request its deletion; we answer within 30 days.

International transfers

We are based in Indonesia. The service providers named above may process data on servers in other countries, under the safeguards set out in their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the release notes of the app concerned.
